Backpacking along Höga Kusten - The High Coast

This was a 2 day 30mile backpack along part of Sweden's Höga Kusten Leden - the coastal path along the High Coast. Weather held up most of the time and only one or two blisters to show for it at the end. T'was a top shout.

Lena, just outside a place called Käll if I remember correctly. I'll check up on it though. Despite the blue skies we were wet through at this point after trampling through a swamped forest with shed loads of mozzies in it.

This is me! Looking cool in the Skuleskogen National Park.

Still in the National Park, this is where we stayed for the first night. Right behind the camera is me. And right behind me is the beach and a real nice bay that, had the water not been freezing cold, would have been good for a swim.

Out of Skuleskogen now and on the beach at Köpmansholmen. Cutting wood for a fire to do our food on. By the time we had the fire going though we couldn't be bothered cooking so just ate crisps and drank 'extra strong' 3.5% lager.

This is the view from where we spent our second night. Quite nice.

And this is where we actually did spend the second night. Not nice! This was on a cliff edge half way up a mountain that was covered with trees. Also, at the time we arrived it was pitch black so it wasn't surprising there was no place for the tent. Under threats of Lena going home I had to lend her my sleeping bag and I spent the night freezing cold in something that had well worn out about 15 years ago.

And this is where we actually did spend the night.

Me all packed up again and ready for the off again. Last day and about 6 long miles to go.

Ready for the off.
